About Julie

I’m a designer, creative director, and artist who believes storytelling is our most powerful tool—for building brands, creating connection, and making sense of the world.

With over 20 years of experience in branding and design, I’ve led national campaigns, built scalable design systems, and reimagined complex enterprise brands from the inside out. My creative process is hands-on, insight-driven, and deeply collaborative. I’m just as passionate about beautiful typography as I am about mentoring designers or translating feedback from a room full of stakeholders into something clear, strategic, and meaningful.

What sets my work apart is a foundation in fine art. I’ve spent years creating large-scale, narrative charcoal drawings in my studio—an ongoing practice that sharpens my eye for detail, symbolism, and composition. Whether I’m designing a national fintech campaign or drawing a crown of glass gulls by hand, I’m always thinking about the emotional core of the story: What does this mean? Why does it matter? How can we say it better?

Lately, I’ve been exploring how emerging tools like generative AI can elevate creative workflows—especially in regulated industries. I’ve successfully piloted and integrated AI into production environments to help teams move faster without sacrificing craft, clarity, or control.

I’m proud to lead with humility. I care deeply about people, and I don’t believe in hoarding credit. I believe in lifting others up, championing smart, thoughtful design, and making sure even the quietest voices have room to shape the work. That care shows up in everything I do—from building trust with partners to creating work that resonates.

When I’m not designing, you’ll usually find me making things: drawing, taking photos in my home studio, walking the neighborhood with my two dogs, or practicing my Italian (I’m fluent!). I believe creativity should feel like joy—and I try to bring a little of that joy to every project I touch.
